Group B:Physics Ⅱ (Quantum mechanics), Chemistry Ⅱ (Inorganic chemistry・Organic chemistry), Bioscience Ⅱ (Molecular biology), Electrical and electronic science Ⅱ (Circuit theory)
Oral Examination:Oral Examination: 5 minutes for presentation about reason for application and current research and 5 minutes for QA.
Interview

Qualifying Examination(QE)

To qualify for the examination, students must submit a paper published in an academic journal, and are screened by a panel including faculty members from other fields and examiners from industrial sectors.
Students are evaluated through questioning that assesses not only the content of their research but their special and fundamental knowledge, their understanding and appreciation of the implications of their research results, the viability of the research they have planned to conduct after the qualifying examination, and their awareness of its implications for society.

QualificationsStudent who acquired more than 36 credits (28 credits in specialized subjects, 4 credits in subjects for broad competency, and 4 credits in subjects for linguistic skills) and has publication of at least 1 academic papers.
Research Background and Research Report: Giving a presentation and QA about basic knowledge of specialization and content of the research.
Research Proposal (Research Plan for after LD3): Giving a presentation and QA about the research plan.
The screening is conducted by Director of the Department, the student’s supervisor and co-supervisor (after passing QE), and industrial advisor.

Thesis Defense

Students defend their thesis in English to a panel including an oversea University faculty and industrial advisor in an international level thesis defense process.
In addition to the content and results of their research, the process assesses students' fundamental and knowledge of related fields, along with their ideas to create a future vision.
